25.	Virginia Dykes Curington
   January 25, 1935 – August 17, 2010 

    Cochran – Virginia Dykes Curington, 
age 75, died Tuesday in Bleckley 
Memorial Hospital.
     She was a graduate of Cochran High 
School Class of 1952 and a graduate of 
Middle Georgia College. She was a member 
of the Cochran First United Methodist 
Church and Mary Ann Meadows Sunday 
School Class.
     Mrs. Curingtion, a life long 
resident of Bleckley County, was the 
daughter of the late Leslie and Rosa 
Giddens Dykes.  She was preceded in 
death by her sons, Bob Curington and 
Bill Curington, her brother Lamar Dykes 
and brother-in-law Jack Curington.
     She leaves behind her husband of 55 
years, Robert “Ludy” Curington of 
Cochran; granddaughters, Cathryn 
Curington and Taylor Curington of 
Atlantic Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, 
Susan Whittingslow of Atlantic Beach, 
FL; sister-in-law, Nita Wimberly of 
Cochran; brother-in-law, Tom Curington 
of Lake Sinclair; several nieces and 
nephews.
     Funeral services will be held 
Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in the First 
United Methodist Church. Burial will be 
in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family is at 
121 S. 7th St. and will greet friends 
from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at 
Mathis Funeral Home
