His parents, John Tom Darsey and Amanda "Mandy" Frances Starley are both buried at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Dodge County. From The Cochran Journal 7-13-1988 Page 10 Mr. Bennie Darsey Funeral services for Mr. Bennie Darsey, 68, of 207 Peach Street, Cochran, who died Saturday, July 9, 1988, in Middle Georgia Hospital, Macon, were held Monday at 3:00PM, July 11, 1988, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles McNeese officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Darsey was a native of Dodge County, the son of the late John Tom Darsey and Amanda Starley Darsey. He was a retired contractor and a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Chance Darsey of Cochran; three sons, Sonny Darsey, Bo Darsey, and Keith Darsey, all of Cochran; four daughters, Mrs. Joan Bowman, Mrs. Ellen Cooper, Mrs. Sue Knighton, and Mrs. Diane Rogers, all of Cochran; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Floyd of Macon and Mrs. Minnie Roland of Myakka, Florida; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Winnie Darsey of Cochran; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Otis Darsey, John I. Floyd, Donald Roland, C. B. Adkins, Albert NeSmith,and Wayne Roland. Fisher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
