(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net September 13, 2013, 7:11 pm The Macon Telegraph 11-21-1960 Page 11 Johnnie Lee Evans COCHRAN--- Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Evans, 46 year old Cochran man killed in a auto-train crash late Saturday night, will be help at 3pm Monday in the First Baptist Church. Rev. J. Chalmes Holmes will officiate with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Evans was killed instantly when his car crashed into the side of a moving train at Coley's Station on a county maintained road four miles south of Cochran. A life long resident of Cochran, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie R. Evans. Other survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dale Evans; five brothers, C. R. Evans Jr. of Macon, Stephen, Lamar, David, and J. R. Evans, all of Cochran; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph Davis, Cochran. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. Additional Comments: Johnnie was born 25 Aug 1917 to Charlie Ross Evans Sr. and Beulah Howell Evans. His wife was Azelma Melba E. Nobles Evans. Georgia death certificate #29279.
