Services will be held at 3pm Thursday in Tabernacle Baptist Church with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Evans, a lifelong resident of Bleckley County, was a retired automobile mechanic and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nadine M. Evans of Cochran; three sons, J. D. Evans and Royce Evans, both of Montrose, and Randy Evans of Cochran; a stepson, James Dowdy of Macon; three daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae West and Mrs. Estelle Nobles, both of Montrose, and Mrs. Glenda Pace of Pascagoula, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda Maddox of Cochran and Mrs. Brenda Rickerson of Hawkinsville; his mother, Mrs. Beulah Evans of Cochran; three brothers, Steve Evans and Lamar Evans, both of Cochran, and J. R. Evans of Vienna; a sister, Mrs. Anna Liza Mullis of Macon; and 16 grandchildren. Mathis Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
