Born in Bleckley County, he was the son of the late Charlie Evans Sr. and the late Beulah H. Evans. He was the retired owner and operator of Four Point Gulf service station and was an Army veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the Cary Hunting Club and Southside Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Ruby C. Evans; children, Elizabeth E. Pritchett of Concord, NC, Barbara E. Coody and Charles F. Evans, both of Cochran, and Steve Evans Jr. of Jeffersonville; sister and brother, Anna L. Mullis of Cochran and J. R. Evans of Vienna; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 3pm today in Fisher Funeral Home, Cochran. Burial: Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Revs. W. E. Flanders and Ronnie Powell will officiate. Visitation: The family may be contacted at the residence. Additional Comments: Steve was born 28 May 1924. His wife was Ruby Collins Evans. His parents were Charlie Ross Evans Sr. and Beulah Howell Evans who are buried at Salem Baptist Church in Cochran, Ga. Georgia death certificate #020880.
