Foskey Sr., 37, of Rte. 3 Cochran, who died Monday afternoon in the Taylor Memorial Hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon in the Chapel of the Fisher Funeral Home. The services were conducted by Elder Freeman Keel, Elder Raborn Lord, and Rev. Chalmes Holmes. Burial was in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens. Mr. Foskey was born in Crisp County and has lived most of his life in Bleckley County. He has been employed by the local gas company for the past twelve years. He had served four years in the US Navy. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Alice Howell Foskey; three sons, Lynn Foskey, Tommy Foskey, and Allen Foskey, all of Cochran; ten brothers, Clayton Foskey of Cochran, Haywood Foskey of Macon, Alex Foskey of Alma, Jerry Foskey of Eastman, Jake Foskey of Cochran, Oscar Foskey of Washington State, Daniel Foskey of Fort Valley, Arlis Foskey of the US Army in Vietnam, George Foskey of Valdosta, and Hubert Foskey of Alma; six sisters, Mrs. Johnny Hobbs of Atlanta, Mrs. Bill Fountain of Ashburn, Mrs. Dan Hawkins of Alma, Mrs. Clifford Wade of Ft. Knox, Ky., Mrs. Dora Shell of Cordele, and Mrs. Bobby Jackson of Cordele. The active pallbearers were Robert Rozier, Buddy Fordham, Alfred Mullis, James Wimberly, K. E. Purser, Cecil Reynolds, Ray Lucas, and Melvin Coley. The Honorary pallbearers were James F. Barlow, Nolan Barlow, Rufus Coody Jr., Derrell Fletcher, John F. Fordham, Dr. C. E. Smith, and Hudson Jones. Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: John was born 7 Apr 1930 to Jacob Richard "Jake" Foskey and Sannie Lane Foskey.
