(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net July 18, 2013, 6:48 pm The Griffin Daily News 12-8-1971 Page 3 Mr. Fowler Mr. James Haywood Fowler, 65, of Cook Road, Lamar County, Griffin, died Tuesday night at the Griffin-Spalding County Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr. Fowler was a retired employee of the Griffin Division, Thomaston Mills. He had resided here for 36 years, moving here from Cochran, Bleckley County. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Bleckley County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella Frances Howell Fowler; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Chamblee of Griffin and Mrs. Patricia Vining of East Point; two brothers, Arthur Fowler of Orchard Hill and Robert Fowler of Barnesville; two sisters, Mrs. Claudia Manning of Griffin and Mrs. Alice Howell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Haisten's Chapel. Minister Evans McMillian will officiate and burial will be in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Haisten Funeral Home is in charge of plans. Additional Comments: James was born 31 Aug 1906 to Jesse Joshua Fowler and Lula Bethanie Dye Fowler. Georgia death certificate #037366.
