Memorial services for 
Mrs. Paula "Polly" 
Weatherly Miles, 79, of 
Athens, who died on 
Thursday, February 16, 
2017 in Atlanta will be 
held on February 22, 
2017 at 2 P.M. in Athens 
First United Methodist 
Church Chapel, 327 N. 
Lumpkin St. 30601 (706) 
543-1442. A graveside 
service will be held on 
February 23 at 2 P.M. in 
Cedar Hill Cemetery in 
Cochran, GA.

Born July 1, 1937 in 
Macon to the late Albert 
Sidney Weatherly and 
Pauline Wilder 
Weatherly, she received 
her Bachelor's degree in 
education from Wesleyan 
College and a Master's 
degree from Georgia 
College. She also 
received a degree in Art 
from The University of 
Georgia. Mrs. Miles 
worked as a school 
teacher and retired from 
child protective 
services in Athens. 
After retiring, she 
continued to work as the 
owner of Home and 
Gardens Crafts, 
specializing in murals. 
She attended Athens 
First United Methodist 
Church and was a member 
of the Georgia Retired 
Employees Association, 
Beachwood Home 
Association and Pilot 
Club Town and Country. 
She was preceded in 
death by her son, John 
Eric Hagemeister, and 
brother, Albert Sidney 
Weatherly, Jr.

Survivors include: her 
husband, Joe A. Miles of 
Athens; daughter, Peggy 
Hagemeister of Helena, 
Montana, sister, Nancy 
Denton Garcia of Ft. 
Worth, Texas; step-
children, Donita Miles 
Puckett, Amy Loraine 
Miles Field, William 
David "Bill" Miles, 
Benjamin Allen Miles; 
and several nieces and 
nephews.

Fisher Funeral Home is 
in charge of 
arrangements.
