(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net August 6, 2013, 2:52 pm The Cochran Journal 1-8-1986 Page 7 Mr. Milton Mullis Funeral services for Mr. Milton Mullis, 67, of Route 1 Chester, Bleckley County, who died Friday, December 27, 1985, were held Sunday at 3:30pm in the Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Mills and the Rev. Billy Todd officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Mullis was a lifelong resident of Bleckley County, the son of the late Eugene and Nora Braswell Mullis. He was an Army veteran of World War II having received the following medals: American Service Medal, Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four bronze stars, and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris H. Mullis of Chester; a daughter and son-in-law, John and Glennis Douglas of Chester; two grandchildren, Amy Douglas and Eric Douglas, both of Chester, and one brother, Leandaus Mullis of Jacksonville, Fla. Active pallbearers were J. R. Fordham, Harold Davis, DeLacey Lucas, Jimmy Perry Jr., Jerry Fordham, and Jimmy Beck. Honorary pallbearers were Harley Davidson, Robert Grimsley, Marvin Garrett, Elbert Powell, Ray Jones, and Leonard Cone. Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
