James Samuel "Sam" Padgett Jr. was born 7-16-1905 and died 4-13-1985.(Ga. DC#
013533). His parents, James Samuel Padgett Sr. and Nancy A. (maiden name Howell)
Padgett are buried at Lucy Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Twiggs County.
 
Mr. Padgett
Cochran - James S. "Sam" Padgett, 79, died Saturday in a Bleckley County
hospital. Services will be held at 3:30 pm today in Mount Calvary Baptist
Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Buford Raffield will
officiate.

Mr. Padgett, a lifelong resident of Bleckley County, was  a member of Mount
Calvary Baptist Church. He was a former manager of South Georgia Ice Co in
Cochran and a farmer. He had been employed by the city of Cochran for the past
20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Faulk Padgett of Cochran; a daughter, Pauline
White of Cochran; two brothers, Hudson Padgett Sr of Cochran and Zelna Padgett
of Macon; three sisters, Anna Bridges and LUcille Dykes, both of Cochran, and
Earline Moore of Danville; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The body will be in the church at 2:30pm today.
The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey White, Faulk Drive,
Cochran.

Fisher Funeral Home in Cochran has charge of arrangements.
