                       Mr. Hudson J. Padgett Sr.

 Funeral services for Mr. Hudson J. Padgett Sr., 76 of School Street Cochran, 
who died Saturday November 26, 1988 in the Bleckley Memorial Hospital, were 
held at 2:30pm Monday, November 28 in the Cochran First Baptist Church with Dr. 
Reed Crumbliss officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

 Mr. Padgett was a native of Twiggs County, the son of the late James Samuel 
Padgett and Nancy Howell Padgett. He was the widow of Mrs. Susie Coley Padgett. 
He had lived in Cochran most of his life where he was a former assistant chief 
of police for the City of Cochran. He was of the Baptist faith.

 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys D. Padgett of Cochran; five sons, 
Outler Padgett of Seattle, Wash., Bubba Padgett, Billy Padgett, Wallace 
Padgett, , and Jimmy Padgett, all of Cochran; three daughters, Mrs. Nadine 
Holland of Cochran, Mrs. Peggy Baugher of Snellville, and Mrs. Paulette Watson 
of Valdosta; two stepsons, Lanny Sapp of Williston, ND and Wallace Sapp of 
Cordele; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Betty Jackson and Mrs. Shirley Chance of 
Cochran; three sisters, Mrs. Earlane Moore, Mrs. Anna Bridges, and Mrs. Lucille 
Dykes, all of Cochran; one brother, Zelna Padgett of Macon;10 grandchildren; 10 
great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

 Pallbearers were Wally Padgett, Kip Padgett, Ken Holland, Derek Padgett, Sam 
Watson, Bo Baugher, and Jared Padgett.

 The Cochran Police Department served as honorary escort.

 Fisher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
