Mr. Purser was born in Jasper County Georgia, May 21st, 1828 and moved from there to Union County N.C., when an infant remaining at the latter place until about 21 years old, and then moved to Pulaski County. Mr. Purser was first married to Miss Martha! Mullis. The children by his first wife are: Green Purser, Jr., •Jr., S. T. **nmer and Mrs. Martha?* His second wife was ?* Holland Six child of this union include **nders, Jno J. Purser, Miss Queenie Hinson, P. R. Turner, and Mrs. Vera Purser. Mr. Purser joined the Missionary Baptist church in 1875, served bus church in the capacity of deacon and treasurer and lived a good, useful Christian life. In the death of Mr. Purser the community sustains the loss of a good and useful citizen, his church a faithful and loyal member, his family a loving and devoted father. ?* where paper was ripped so it was unreadable.
