15.	Bessie Mae Purvis

     Roddy – Bessie Mae Purvis, age 90, 
Tuesday, June 29, 2010, Mrs. Bessie Mae 
Purvis age 90 left her residence to meet 
Jesus for those she left behind include;
Her children, Bessie (Melvin) Coley of 
Chester, Linda (Bobby) Warren of 
Eastman, R.S. (Angie) Purvis of 
Alabaster, AL and J.W. (Cheryl) Purvis 
of Roddy; eleven grandchildren; twenty 
three great grandchildren and five 
great-great grandchildren; several 
nieces and nephews.
   Mrs. Purvis, born December 2, 1919, 
was the daughter of the late W.D. and 
Ida Rowland Yeomans and the widow of 
O.W. “Bud” Purvis. She was preceded in 
death by her sisters and brothers, Pearl 
Cornett and Grace Poppell, Bill Yeomans, 
Johnny Yeomans.
    Funeral services will be held Friday 
at 11:00 A.M. in Chester Church of God. 
Burial will be in Pleasant Olive 
Cemetery in Chester.
     The family is at 3805 Chester-
Eastman Highway and will greet friends 
from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at 
Mathis Funeral Home.
