(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net July 2, 2012, 10:57 am The Cochran Journal 11-25-1971 Page 8 Herbert Skipper Funeral services for Herbert (Skinny) Skipper, 60, of Route 3 Cochran, who died Monday morning after a long illness in the H. J. Taylor Memorial Hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock in the chapel of Mathis-Nobles Funeral Home with Elder Robert Sanders and Rev. James Burleson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Skipper was a retired farmer and lifelong resident of Bleckley County. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nettie Mullis Skipper; three sons, D. W. Skipper of Hawkinsville, Eugene Skipper and Holland Skipper, both of Cochran; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Hinson of Cochran; one sister, Mrs. W. A. Mullis of Cochran; one brother, S. D. Skipper of Lakeland, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. The pallbearers were Billy Darsey, Dan Mullis, Jack Warren, Robert Skipper, Obie Bass, M. T. Lyles, Ronnie Skipper, and Stevie Skipper. Mathis -Nobles Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Additional Comments: Herbert was born 9 Mar 1911 to Daniel W. Skipper and Winnie I. Dillard. Georgia death certificate #037063.
