(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 26, 2013, 2:43 pm The Cochran Journal 3-5-1931 Front Page YOUNG WIFE DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Mrs. Gladys Skipper, the young wife of Mr. Tullie Skipper, of near Cochran, died Monday night after a very brief illness. The deceased was Miss Gladys Smallwood, of near Gordon, before her marriage. She died of her affiliction very unexpectecly. She was only 21 years of age and a happy wife and mother up until her illness. A sweet funeral service was held at Oak Grove church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. F. B. Asbell of Cochran officiating. She leaves her husband and one small child to mourn her death, besides other more distant relatives. Additional Comments: Gladdis was born about 1909-1910 to George T. Smallwood and Clifford C.
