(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 12, 2014, 6:01 pm The Cochran Journal 4-6-1983 P8B Mrs. Nettie Skipper Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Skipper, age 68 of Route 3 Cochran who died Thursday morning, March 31, 1983, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, were held Friday April 1 at three o'clock in the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Daniel Bryant and Elder Rupert Nobles officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Skipper, a lifelong resident of Bleckley County, was the widow of the late Herbert Skipper. She was a retired employee of the L & H Shirt Company and a member of the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Estelle Hinson of Cochran; three sons, D. W. Skipper, Eugene Skipper, and Holland Skipper, all of Cochran; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ronnie Mullis, Stevie Mullis, Jimmy Skipper, Bill Bessenbacher, Billy Darsey, and Calvin Grenade. Mathis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
