Sam Wheeler Was Operated On About a Week Ago and Died Sunday Morning. Mr.Sam W.Wheeler died at his home one mile west of the city, Monday morning at 4:20 a.m as the result of an attack of appendicitis, for which he was operated upon about a week ago by Drs.J.J.and R.G.Stone, a couple of local physicians. Mr.Wheeler was 44 years old and recently moved here from Bleckley County and was farming on the Fleming place, now owned by Mrs D. C. Joiner. He was a mason and was a member of Salem Lodge. He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Lizzie Beckworth, and seven children-- Charlie, Mattie, Mabel, Maud, Sam, Grace and Laura Wheeler. The remains were interred in Orange Hill Cemetery Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The funeral service was conducted by Rev.C.L.Greaves, pastor of the Baptist church.
