All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jennifer Cone JennyCone@aol.com August 6, 2003, 9:46 pm 169/15 Written: October 1 1857 Recorded: July 24 1872 State of Florida Madison County This indenture made this first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty seven between William M Thomas of the first have this day bargained and sold unto Elizabeth Triplet all of the county and state aforesaid, Witnesseth that the said William M Thomas for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars to him in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged - having bargained and sold unto the said Elizabeth Triplet a certain tract or parcel of land known and distinguished by No. One Hundred and Sixty-Nine(169)in the fifteenth district of originally Irwin now Lowndes County also two Negro girls Georgian ten years old and Mary Jane about five years old, To have and to hold the above discribed land and Negroes and their future increase to the said Elizabeth Triplet during her natural life and at her deceased to be equally divided between her two children Mary Ann and Nancy share and share alike, And I the said William M Thomas do bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to warrant the title to the said discribed land and Negroes to the said Elizabeth Triplet during her life and then to her two children Mary Ann and Nancy, I the said William M Thomas do hereby nominate constitute and appoint A I Lea and John Ragin trustees to receive and control the above described land and Negroes and at the deceased of the said Elizabeth Triplet to take charge of the property and divide it between her two children Mary Ann and Nancy. Given under my hand and seal the day and year above written Signed sealed and delivered William M Thomas (LS) In presence of Wm G McNair James W McNair Recorded July 24th 1872 Georgia Brooks County In person came William G McNair who being duly sworn says that he saw William M Thomas sign seal and deliver the forgoing deed for the consideration and purposes therein mention, and that deponent and James W.
