His death was attributed to injuries received in an automobile wreck which occurred Wednesday evening of last week. Mr. Carter was riding in a truck which crashed into a telephone pole on the Pavo Road. It was thought at first that Mr. Carter was uninjured but a later examination revealed serious injuries and he was carried to a Valdosta hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday and were largely attended. He was a prominent young farmer of the county and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He resided on the Pavo road, six miles from Quitman. He is survived by his widow and four children, Robert, Lucille and twin daughters, one month old.
