MR. JOHN W. DUKES BURIED AT PAVO
     Mr. John W. Dukes, a well known contractor of Pavo, died at his home 
there Wednesday night at midnight.  He had been ill for several months.
     Funeral services were held at Pavo Friday afternoon at two o'clock and 
interment was in Lebanon cemetery there.  Mr. Dukes was born in Brooks county 
and spend practically all of his life in the Pavo section.
     He was about 72 years old and had been married for 53 years.  Several 
children and his wife survive.

Survivors were Lula Humphries Dukes, wife, Pavo; Olin Sidney Dukes, son; 
Willie Frances Dukes Harper, daughter; and Johnnie Jeanette Dukes Lyons, 
daughter; all of Jacksonville, Florida.
