QUITMAN FREE PRESS  Friday May 19, 1905
John FINLAYSON, Sr one of the best known citizens of Jefferson County, Florida 
died last Monday at his home at Ashville. Aged about 52.  He died of Bright's 
disease.  Col John FINLAYSON, father of the deceased having been a candidate for 
governor of Florida.  The family having been very prominent.  He died during the 
campaign.  This family lived in Quitman 2 years ago.
