  Nearly 1,000 people from all over Brooks County and north Florida attended 
funeral services for George Carrol Hopper, held Sunday afternoon,October 30-
1932, at Columbia Church, Brooks County, Georgia.
  Mr. Hopper was a member of the board of County Commissioners and a prominent 
farmer and business man. His wife was Miss Martha Bowie Wade, also a member of 
an old county family. Friday night he had accompanied members of his family to 
a party at the home of a neighbor and in the car on the way home suffered a 
stroke of apoplexy, never speaking or regaining consciousness, and dying 
shortly after reaching home.

Additional Comments:
George was the son of John Hardee "Hard" Hopper and Nancy Jane Folsom.
