Peculiar Death of Infant.
Quitman, Ga., March 24.--The 3-year-old child of Ed Humphreys, who lives at 
Tallokas, in the northern part of the county, lost its life this morning in a 
peculiar way.

It was just beginning to walk, and was left by its mother alone in the room for 
a few minutes.  During her absence it fell head first into the slop tub, and 
when she returned it was dead.
