M. McKee, died early Tuesday morning after a long and severe illness of fever. He was a bright and manly boy with a genial disposition, which made him many friends. His death is particularly sad. Besides his father and mother, he leaves a small brother and sister, who have the sympathy of their friends in their grief. The funeral services were conducted Wednesday by Rev. Dr. Wynne and the interment took place in the new cemetery. The pall bearers were members of young McKee's Sunday school class and were Donald Jelks, W. B. Bennett, John Hunter, Henry Mashburn, Melvin Weiderer, and Arthur Wilkerson. Additional Comments: Lawrence was born to Samuel M. McKee and Lula E."Dinkie" Carroll/Carrell McKee. His DOB was listed as Nov 1893 in the 1900 census which would put him closer to 18 years of age.
