Know alll men by these presents, that I James Martin, of the County of Bryan
and State of Georgia, have given to my Son and by these presents do freely
give and grant unto him, a tract of land, lying South of the Savannah River,
Joining of (m or w) William thompson fields, containing of two hundred and
fifty acres.  Know Ye that I the said James Martin, of the County and State
aforesaid, doth freely give and grant to my Son, Emanuel H. Martin, his
heirs, executors, and Administrators, that the said  Emanuel H. Martin is to
have and to hold the said tract of Lands, that I his Father, the said James
Martin have given him, and that the Land being under no (enthulment??)
either of Debt or Mortgage.____

and appeared before and sayeth that he saw James Martin sign and deliver the
within instsrument of writing to Emanuel H. Martin his son for the purpose
therein mentioned, said deponant further states that he was as subscribing
witness, and saw John A Gieger signe likewise.__
