Born 16 Nov 1832 Bryan County, GA, Died 15 March 1915 Nassau County, FL. Nellie Sellars Thompson received widow's pension. Additional Comments: Saw the Roster of the 47th Georgia Co E in the recent updates. Thought this could be added to Malachi's report. Noted others had this information. Malachi's pension application can be obtained thru the online Florida Archives Civil War penison site. On July 28, 1899 Hezekiah Thompson filed his Civil War Pension Claim. It stated that he was born May 3, 1828 in Bryan County, Georgia and that he was a citizen of Duval County, Florida and living in Florida since 1895. The application stated that he had enlisted in the CSA in Savannah, Georgia in June 30, 1861 in E Company of the 7th Cavalry of the State of Georgia under the command of Captain Bunks and was captured at Stony Brook, VA on October 27, 1864. He was imprisoned at Point Lookout, Maryland where he was paroled in 1865. Statements of witness of service were in his application file from Levi Sapp, Eli Kennedy, and John Holland. Mr. Thompson’s pension was granted. A copy of the 16-page pension application is available online Florida Archives. (Hezekiah Thompson was the son of Benjamin Thompson found in the 1850 census of Bryan County, Georgia. Later Hezekiah can be found in Charlton County, Georgia.
