Pembroke, Georgia
Mrs. Virgie Lanier Deal
Age 84
Mrs. Deal died Monday May 9, 1994, at her home in Pembroke after a long 
illness. She was a native of Bryan County and a lifetime member of the 
Pembroke Garden Club. She was retired from the Bryan County Department of 
Family and Children's Services. She was a member of the Pembroke United 
Methodist Church and the UMW.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Deal Evans, Como NC, and Mrs. 
Janice Deal Hendrix of Ringgold, GA., one brother, Donald Lanier, Charleston, 
SC, and two sisters, Miss Blanche Lanier, and Mrs. Ollie Crawford, both of 
Pembroke, Four Grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 11, 1994 at the Pembroke United 
Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Mike Huling. Active 
pallbearers will be Billy Miles. W.W.Pickett, John Harvey, Jack Carney, Melvin 
Speir and Homer Houser. Members of the UMW will serve as an honorary escort. 
Burial will be in North Side Cemetery in Pembroke. Morrison Funeral Home of 
Pembroke in charge.

Additional Comments:
The newspaper has changed names and I don't know if it was The Pembroke 
Journal or the Bryan County News or perhaps The Bryan County Times at the time 
of her death.  jdh
