Prior to this visit, the cemetery was almost completely overgrown with weeds & vines. We sprayed with Round-up on a couple of trips and then used implements to cut and remove the vegetation from graves. Original fence surrounding the cemetery was almost completely gone and it appeared that livestock had been in and around the graves contributing to the damage to the cemetery. Graves we found in 2002: As listed in cemetery book: (from Jeanette Futch) (surveyed 2-4-1981 by Mrs. Annette Bacon and Mrs. Lawrence B. Kelly Allen Trapnell property.) 1. This family was neighbor to these other family heads- of-household: Lemuel Lanier, Roxy Hodges, Joshua Hodges, James V. Rowe. NOTES of Selma Kathleen Hodges McElveen: This cemetery located on Trapnell (now Nancy Trapnell) property was just a couple of miles from my parents, Charlie Morgan Hodges and Nina Ruth Lewis Hodges. Cemetery is located on Aden Lanier Rd., a few hundred feet on the left from the intersection with Trapnell Rd., Bulloch Co., GA. The Moses L. Hodges and Roxy Ann Hodges were my great-grandparents. Moses L. Hodges was the son of Joshua Hodges, Jr. (burial place unknown). The Joshua Hodges buried in this Hodges-Rowe Cemetery is a son of Moses L. & Roxy Hodges. W. Moses Rowe was a grandson of Moses L. Hodges by his daughter Sarah, who married Virgil Rowe. The Maud in this cemetery is Maud Keel, the wife of W. Moses Rowe. Bertha Mae in this cemetery was the infant daughter of Moses & Maud Rowe. The marker for Eva M. Miller is believed to be the daughter of Robert P. Miller and Catherine Phillips Miller. They were neighbors of the families buried in the Hodges- Rowe Cemetery. Catherine Phillips Miller is connected to the Rowe family through her mother, Jemima “Minnie” Rowe Phillips, wife of Wiley Phillips and great-aunt to W. Moses Rowe.
