1892, May 16  Whereas I, W.D. Davis am indebted to George R. Lombard & Co. of 
Richmond County in the sum of $1475.05 Dollars and cents, I have this date 
delivered to them my three certain promissory notes and now assign all the 
following property, viz; all that tract of land situate in the town of 
Statesboro fronting on East Main Street, 200 feet and having a front on Dover & 
Statesboro Railroad of 250 feet bounded on the North and West by lands of S.F. 
Olliff, on the East by Railroad Street or property belonging to the Dover & 
Statesboro RR and on the South by East Main Street and corner store lot 
belonging  to Wm. S. Pretorius, being the lot upon which is located the 
dwelling house now occupied by said W.D. Davis and also the new Hotel occupied 
by Mrs. John T. Bird and the horse lot barns.  Also all that other lot of land 
in the town of Statesboro known as the W.D. Davis Mill [ possibly not a water 
mill ] lot upon which is located the saw mill, grist mill and gin house and the 
blacksmith & work shop.  Also personal property in the above described 
buildings and also that lot in Statesboro on the North side of East main Street 
containing 2 acres bounded on the North by lot of A.J. Hagins, East by Franklin 
Street, South by East Main Street and on the West by Depot land of the Dover & 
Statesboro Railroad.  And also that other lot being in Statesboro bounded North 
by lands of S.F. Olliff, East by S.F. Olliff, South by Hill Street and West by 
Franklin Street containing 1 acre.
