1891, October 1--- I promise to pay James A. Fulcher $108 Dollars with interest 
of 8% including 10% of principal and interest for counsel fees if placed in 
hands of an attorney for collection and hereby mortgage the following described 
property which is unencumbered and which I waive and renounce all rights of 
homestead and exception of this State and the United States.  My entire crop of 
cotton and corn now being grown and cultivated by me on my plantation in the 
46th Dist. GM near Foys Mill consisting of 17 acres in black seed cotton and 11 
acres in green seed cotton and 20 acres in corn is on the plantation of Mrs. 
Mollie Newton, near ________ P.O.
