All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************* State of Georgia Bulloch County This Indenture made this the fifth day of April Eighteen Hundred and Seventy, between JAMES YOUNG, JR. and JOHN CAMERON, of the State and County aforesaid, duly constituted Administrators of the Estate of JAMES YOUNG, SENR., Deceased, of the one part, and JAMES F.(ranklin) BROWN, of the same place of the other part. WITNESSETH: That whereas by virtue of an order granted by the Ordinary (previous notice having been given in the “Federal Union” newspaper published in the City of Milledgeville according to Law in such case made and provided on the first Monday in May last) to said JAMES YOUNG, JR. and JOHN CAMERON, Administrators of the Estate of JAMES YOUNG, SENR., aforesaid to sell a tract or parcel of land belonging to the Estate of said deceased, lying and being in the County aforesaid, Containing Six Hundred and Seventy (670) acres more or less, bounded by lands of Flyn Daniel Brower[spelling questionable on Brower] and others and known as the “ACADEMY TRACT” of land. After the said Tract of Land was duly advertised in conformity to law the same was put up and exposed to sale, to the highest and best bidder, at the door of the Court House at Statesboro in said County within the legal hours of sale on the first Tuesday (Instant) by said James Young, Jr. and John Cameron, Administrators as aforesaid when said Tract or parcel of Land was knocked off to said JAMES F. BROWN at the price and sum of One Hundred and 50/100 Dollars. Now for and in consideration of the said sum of One Hundred and 50/100 Dollars cash in hand paid to the said James Young, Jr. and John Cameron, Administrators as aforesaid by him the said James F. Brown at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, said James Young, Jr. and John Cameron, Administrators as aforesaid hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell (so far as the Office of Administrator authorized them) unto the said James F. Brown, his heirs and assigns, the said Tract or Parcel of Land lying in said County containing Six Hundred and Seventy Acres more or less, with all the rights, members and appurtenances thereto belonging as in anywise appertaining; to him the said James F. Brown his heirs and assigns in as full and ample a manner as said lot or Tract of Land was seized, possessed and enjoyed by said James Young, Deceased, in his lifetime. In witness whereof said James Young, Jr. and John Cameron, Administrators, as aforesaid have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals, the day and year above written.
