Mallard, 56, died Saturday in the Bulloch County Hospital after a short illness. The Bulloch County native was a World War II veteran and had been employed by a dry cleaning firm and was the equipment manager at Hannah Fieldhouse at Georgia Southern College. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cleo E. Mallard of Statesboro; a sister, Mrs. Earl Hutto of High Point, N.C.; and a brother W. W. Mallard of Fort Pierce, Fla. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Statesboro First Baptist Church with burial in the East Side Cemetery. Smith-Tillman Mortuary is in charge. DEATH NOTICE: MALLARD - Mr. James M. (Jimmie) STATESBORO - Funeral services for Mr. Mallard will be held Monday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Statesboro First Baptist Church with Rev. J. Robert Smith officiating. Burial in East Side Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Mac Tucker, Jimmy Kitchings, Jimmy Stapleton, Carrol Bishop, Harry Brunson, Harry Prosser. The body will remain in the chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary until the funeral hour. Smith-Tillman is in charge of arrangements.
