Duffy Street died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. The Bulloch County native had been a resident of Savannah more than 35 years and was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local 256. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Caroleigh Sumner McElveen of Savannah; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Gregory of Jacksonville, FL; three sons, George McElveen of Martinez; Harold McElveen of Buena Vista and William Mcelveen of Columbia, S. C.; Mrs. Lizzie Knight of Stilson and 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm today at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home with Burial in Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
