All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carol Tindell catindell@windstream.net January 21, 2015, 11:53 am Source: Georgia, Probate Records, 1742-1990 Written: May 1, 1819 Recorded: November 1, 1819 Will of Bridger Jones dtd 5/1/1819 probated 11/1/1819 1st--All just debts and demands and the schooling of younger children to be raised from my hogs and cattle. 2nd--to son Berry JONES, plantation I bought from Josiah Jones on the east side of Lot Creek, + all adjoining land; and $200 cash; and 1 horse bridle and saddle, one bed, other furniture and other things he has already received, to his heirs and assigns forever. 3rd--to dtr, Mary EVERETT, negro Serena + all her increase; and 1 mare, bridle and saddle, furniture, $200 and other thigs previously received, to her heirs and assigns forever. 4th--to dtr, Rachel WISE, negro woman Tab + all her increase; 1 mare bridle and saddle, 1 feather bed & furniture, $200 cash, and other things previously received, to her heirs and assigns forever. 5th--to son, Briant JONES, one negro boy named Donum, another named Sharp and all the land I bought of Henry DUTTON, one horse briddle and saddle, one feather bed, furniture.....etc. 6th--to son Josiah JONES, negros boy Anthony, girl Jinny; and all the land between the 2 ten-mile creeks consisting of all the land I bought of Oliver and Paramore, except part lying the in fork of bad prong and 10 mile creek; Also give 500 acres surveyed ajoining to it; 10 cows and calves; 1 horse bridle and saddle; 1 feather bed; furniture....etc. 7th--to son, Bassel JONES, negro girl named Massey; all my lands I purchased from Jesse MIXON and Cornelius MIXON, lying on 15 mile creek on the Canochee River and other tracts attached to it, the line beginning on Canochee River and the awkward cut and ??? field running thence to the back line known by the heirs, all the land on the north side; horse bridle and saddle, feather bed, etc. 8th--to son, Buckner JONES, negro girl Tener, the plantation whereupon I now live, on the land that I bought from Singleton and Newton and Fletcher, and part of Parimore's, and other surveys all joining the plantation where I now live and on the South side of the division line; 1 horse bridle and saddle; feather bed; 1 negro man Duke, and one Negro girl named Darkes; furniture. etc. 9th--to dtr, Nancy JONES, negro girl named Darkes jr., one negro boy Elis, 1 horse bridle & saddle; feather bed, furniture,,,,etc. 10th should any negros die that I have willed above before my children are married or become of age, then another negro should be selected of equal value 11th--after all debts and younger children's schooling, then to wife Rachel Jones, the rest of my hog and cattle 12th--to my wife, Rachel Jones, all the rest of household furniture 13th--to son Buckner JONES, my new sideboard, still and clock. 14th--to all my heirs: 6 chances in the insuing land lottery in that if I win any prizes that they be sold and the proceeds shared equally among my heirs 15th all my out property after the death of marriage of my wife, should be divided amongst 6 of my children: Berry, Mary, Rachel, Bazzel, Buckner and Nancy. 16th--appoint sons Berry JONES, Briant JONES and Josiah JONES as executors of my estate.
