EXTRACTS FROM THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE SENATE

Friday, June 11, 1790

Resolved, That the name of Thomas Lewis be inferred in the commission of the
peace for the county of Burke, in the room of David Douglas, Esquire, deceased:
and that the names of John Lasseter, William Jones and Edward Weathers, be
inferred in the aforesaid commission.  To which the House of Representatives
concurred:
The Senate proceded to elect officers for different counties: and on taking the
ballots, it appeaared the following were duly elected:
George Handley, Esq. Sherrif for Richmond County.  Thomas  Watkins, Esq. Clerk
of the Superior Court for said County.  Daniel Burnett, Collector of Taxes for
Washington Co., for the year 1789:  John M. Call, Collector of Taxes for
Effingham Co., for 1789: and James Stuwart, Collector of Taxes for Liberty Co.,
for 1789.
