Mr. Freeman Chance committed suicide at his home in Munnerlyn Friday morning 
last by stabbing himself with a pocket knife in the region of the heart. Mr. 
Chance was in bad health and despondent. We are told that he talked of the 
matter several times and told some one that he attempted it before but the 
knife pricked the skin and deterred him. But said that the next time he tried 
it he intended putting a piece of paper under the point of the knife until he 
struck the fatal blow.
He was a single man about 58 years and was occupying a room a short distance 
from the house of a relative. Early Friday morning a nephew went to his room 
to inquire after him, when he quietly informed him that he had stabbed 
himself. He lived a short time afterwards. His remains were followed to 
Habersham.
