McGee, age 79, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at his residence after an illness. Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Bible Outreach Fellowship in Lake City with burial in the Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2005, from 7 - 9pm at the funeral home. Born in Olanta, South Carolina he was a son of the late Benjamin C. (Bennie) McGee and Bernett Granger McGee. He was a veteran of the US Army; was retired as the Chief of Police from the Olanta Police Department; was a farmer; and was a member of the Olanta Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three sons, Philip McGee, L.C. McGee, and Steve McGee; three sisters, Rachael McGee, Adjilou Dunham, and Magdalene Wade; and three brothers, Toby McGee, Buster McGee, and Emory McGee. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Weaver McGee of Olanta; two daughters, Frankie Ann Johnson of Aiken, and Miriam Floyd of Effingham; a step-daughter, Connie Coker of Olanta; two step-sons, Dan Mims and Eric Mims both of Olanta; a sister, Audrey Wilder of Columbia; four brothers, Allard McGee, James Allen McGee, David McGee, Calvin McGee all of Columbia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
