Miss Carolyn June Mobley, graduate of the Waynesboro High School, passes away Wednesday morning following an illness of several months. She had spent most of her life in Burke County near Sardis where she was born, the daughter of Ernest C. Mobley of Burke County and the late Nellie White Mobley of Screven County. She attended school in Sardis and Waynesboro, being one of the class of 47s most popular and promising graduates. She was a member of Bethany Church near Girard. She is survived by her father; one sister, Mrs. B, Jones Tomlin, Waynesboro; six brothers, Norbert W. Mobley and Howard Emerson Mobley, Gracewood, Ga., C. W. Mobley, Panama Canal Zone, Thomas Eugene Mobley and Ernest C. Mobley, Jr., Girard, Ga. and Laurie E. Currington, Waynesboro; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Robert Davis, Screven Co; two nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 o'clock from the Waynesboro Baptist Church by the Rev. J. O. J. Taylor, pastor of Waynesboro Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery near Girard. Acting pallbearers will be Gene Sapp, Judson Thompson, Jonnie Wheeler, Jimmie Oliver, Roger Hatcher and Billy Joe Johnson.
