Chalker-Flakes  Engagement announcement.
Mrs. Eugenia I. Chalker of Augusta, GA and Carl E. Chalker of Waynesboro, GA., 
announce the engagement of their daughter, Carlene Ruth, to William Dwellie 
Flakes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Flakes of Alexander, GA.  Miss Chalker is the 
granddaughter of Mrs. Myrtle Ivey of Orlando, Fla., and of Mrs. Iler Chalker of 
Waynesboro, GA and the late G. F. Chalker.  The bride-elect is a graduate of 
the Academy of Richmond County and attended Georgia Southern College in 
Statesboro.  She is a member of Phi Alpha Upsilon and is employed by Gracewood 
State School and hospital.  Her fiance is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Flakes of 
Alexander, Ga., and the late Lester Flakes and the late Mr. and Mrs. Judge 
Brookins.  A graduate of Sardis-Girard-Alexander High School, he is employed by 
Continental Can Company.  The wedding will be at 3 p.m. June 29 at Woodlawn 
Methodist Church.
