I William Lesseter being of weak and feeble health but of sound mind and memory do make and establish this my last Will and Testament here by revoking all other Wills made by me. Item 1st I desire that my body shall be decently buried and that after my soul returns to God who gave it that my Executor shall see that all my just debts are paid. Item 2rd I desire that all my heirs shall inherit my property as shall be named in the following Items. Item 3rd I desire that my plantation whereon I now live shall be valued at the sum of Six Thousand Dollars and shall be given to my beloved wife Jane and my two sons Thomas H. and Emory R. Lasseter each ones share to be valued at Five Thousand dollars and the said Lands to be the property of the said Jane and Thomas H. and Emory R. to work and do with as they may desire, either to work together or separately and they are to account for Two Thousand Dollars each at the division of my property for the said Land and after the death of my beloved wife the said Lands are to be and vest in as the property of my two Sons Thomas H. and Emory R. Lasseter to be divided between them equally as near as can be done but the Land neither before my wife's death or after is subject to be sold for the debts of either my beloved wife Jane or either of my Sons Thomas H. and Emory R. Lasseter and each of my other heirs are to have an amount of property equal to the value of the value of Two Thousand Dollars so that they may all stand equal to the value of the Heirs above named in the land. Item 4th I desire that my beloved wife Jane shall have all the household and kitchen furniture, Gin House, Year Dwelling House and as much stock as she may deem necessary for her use and to share an equal part in all the other property to be divided to be hers in fee simple and for her to have the right to will or give away as she may desire all the property she inherits from me except the land as above named. Also my House Hunter and buggy part of the stock she is to have is to be four mules as she may choose. Item 5th I desire that all my other property consisting of Horses, mules, moneys and other property arising that maybe belonging to my heirs which are as follows: My beloved wife Jane and my daughters Eliza Bell, Francis Bell and the children of my deceased Son John P. Lasseter, William E. Lasseter, Orrin D. Lasseter and Emory R. Lasseter - nine heirship. Item 6th I do hereby appoint and have as my sole Executor to carry out the provisions named in this Will my esteemed nephew Joseph A. Shewmake and as my Executrix my beloved wife Jane Lasseter and I further appoint them to act as the guardian of my minor Son Emory R. Lasseter. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the thirteenth day of December (1854) Eighteen Hundred Fifty Four.
