GEORGIA – BUTTS  COUNTY

This indenture made this the seventh day of January, Eighteen Hundred and Forty
Two between James E. Bankston of the one part and Boling K. Bankston of the
other part, both of the county and state aforesaid.  Witnesseth that the said
James E. Bankston for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and Thirty
Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargains and sold and doth by these present grant bargain and sell unto
the said Boling K. Bankston his heirs and assigns all the following described
land, it being a part of Lot No. Eighty One in the first District of originally
Henry now Butts County containing thirty five acres more or less and situate as
follows.  Commencing on the line between Riley and James E. Bankston and running
east fifty five rods thence south to the line between Harpers and said Bankston
thence west along said line to the corner between Bankston and Mays thence along
said line to the place first mentioned.  To have and to hold said bargained
premises with all and singular the rights mentioned and appurtenances thereof to
the only proper use benefit and behalf of him the said Boling K. Bankston his
heirs and assigns forever in few simple and the said James E. Bankston his heirs
and assigns will warrant and forever defend the premises hereby conveyed unto
the said Boling K. Bankston his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of
the said James E. Bankston, his heirs and assigns and of all and every other
person or persons whosoever by virtue of those present.  In witness whereof the
said James E. Bankston hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day
and year above written

In person appeared William R. Bankston who being sworn saith that his assigned
as witness to the written deed for the purposes therein stated and that Jacob
Bankston did also in his presence of each other swear to and subscribe before me
this 17th day of January 1842.
