This indenture made this the Eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand and thirty three, between James Harkness of the one part and Alfred
Bankston of the other part, witnesseth that the said James Harkness, for and in
consideration of the sum of Two hundred and twenty five dollars in hand paid the
receipt, whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold and
doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the said Alfred Bankston,
his heirs and assigns, the undivided half of Lot No. 77,(seventy seven) in the
first district of originally Henry, now Butts County, containing one hundred 
and one acres, more or less, there being a school house on said tract of land
one fourth of an acre reserved for said school house so long as said house
stands and then to go to Bankston and his heirs, said tract of land being the
east half.  To have and to hold, with all and singular the rights members and
appurtenances , to the said Alfred and his heirs and assigns, and the said
James, doth by these presents warrant and forever defend from himself and his
heirs and assigns and from all other persons to the said Alfred, and his heirs
and assigns forever due fee simple.  In witness whereof the said James Harkness,
hath hereunto set his hand and seal, the day and date above written, signed
sealed and delivered in the presence of the
