Bankston, J Richard McDuff, Sheriff of the county aforesaid did lately seize the half lot of sand herein after described as the property of said James S. Bankston and after being duly and publicly advertise a agreeable to Saw did on the fifty day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine at the place of public sales in the county of butts, expose the same at public outcry when Abner Bankston, being the highest bidder the sum was knocked off to him at the price of sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars and fifty cents. Now this indenture made the fifty day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand and eight hundred thirty nine and in the sixty third year of the Independence of the United States of America between the said Richard McDuffy Sheriff as aforesaid of the one part and the said Abner Bankston of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Richard McDuff Sheriff as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred and fifty dollars and fifty cents to him I hand paid by the said Abner Bankston at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipts, whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold & by these presents doth grand bargain and sell so far as the office of Sheriff authorizes unto the said Abner Bankston, the East half of Lot of Sand No. 52, fifty two in the fourth district or originally Monroe now Butts County, containing one hundred one and a fourth acres more or less together with all and singular the rights members, and appurtenances, unto the said tract of Sand, being belonging or in anywise appertaining also all the estate right titles interest property claim and demand of the said James S. Bankston, in Saw Equity or otherwise whatsoever of in or to the same. To have and to hold the said tract of Sand and premises and every part thereof unto the said Abner Bankston, his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple in as full and ample a manner as the said James S. Bankston did or his heirs and assigns did or might have held and enjoyed the same and it not have been sold under the execution aforesaid. In witness whereof the said Richard McDuffy, Sheriff as aforesaid, has set his hand and seal this day and year first above written signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of John R.
