W. Wassly. The note is written on a scrap of letter paper and presents a very striking contrast to the iron clad torpedo instruments of the present day. This note is something of a curiosity. It reads as follows: “($70.00) by the 25th of December eighteen hundred and forty six I promise to pay to O. W. Wassy seventy dollars for value received, but if it is not convenient to pay at maturity of the note I am to have until the 25th of December, eighteen hundred and forty seven by paying ten dollars more. August 22, 1845. J. L. By Lyons.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/butts/newspapers/anoldnot1901gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
