The fence will be sold to the highest and best bidder. The matter was placed in the hands of Mr. J. H. Carmichael who will receive all bids. It is said the fence will be sold very cheap and anybody desiring a fence for a cemetery or for a yard can doubtless secure a bargain. The court house lawn is to be beautified and walks will probably be laid around the court house from the different entrances. The selling of the fence and the work of laying the walks is conditional upon the removal of the hitching post by the city. At present the hitching posts and conditions arising there from are unsightly and decidedly unhealthy. It is for hygienic purposes that the posts are to be moved. It is proposed to make the court house lawn one of the prettiest in the state. This can be done at a small expense.
