B. Dozier of Flovilla, have issued invitations to the 25th anniversary of their wedding. The happy event will be celebrated on the evening of November 10ith at their home at Flovilla. Quite a number of their Jackson friends have received invitations. Jackson Argus – Butts County Week of November 4, 1898 ……………………………………………. Silver Wedding – Flovilla Nov. 14 A delightful social event was the celebration by Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Dozier of the 25th anniversary of their wedding last Thursday evening at their home on College street. This is the first occasion of which the doors of their beautiful new home have been thrown open to society. The decorations were elaborate, consisting of palms, chrysanthemums and roses. The parlor where the couple stood for congratulations was decorated with bamboo vines, palms, and white chrysanthemums. The front drawing room was in Japanese decorations, and here two beautiful young ladies, Miss Zadie Dozier and Miss Lucille Elder, were dressed as Japanese girls and served tea to the guests. In this room the numerous and handsome presents were also displayed. After congratulations the guests proceeded by the bride and groom, as Mendelssohn’s beautiful Wedding March was rendered by Mrs. R. A. Douglass, entered the dining hall which was decorated in ivy and yellow chrysanthemums. Miss Annie Hardeman, Miss Eva Gardner, Miss Bessie Napier, Miss Sue Jarret, Miss Nellie Douglass, Miss Maggie Gardner, Miss Minnie Glover and Miss Carrie Marshall served the guests. Miss Lula Dozier and Miss Flora Turner served apollinaris(?) nectar in the drawing room. Mrs. R. A. Douglass, Mrs. T. B. Turner4 and Miss Lula Dozier received in the front hall; Mrs. George T. McEldery assisted in the parlor, and in the front drawing room Mrs. R. S. Allen, Mrs. G. B. Elder. Mrs. Dozier was handsomely dressed in black silk with mousseline de sole. She wore the wreath of orange blossoms worm by her the night of her marriage. Among those present from a distance were Mrs. George T. McEldery, of Talladega, Ala.; Mrs. J. B. Turner of Macon; Mrs. I. S. Dozier, of Monticello; Mr. and Mrs. J. F. M. Fields, of McDonough; Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Daughtry, of Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Goodman, of Jackson; Miss Annie Hardeman, Miss Bessie Napier, and Miss Lila Roberts, of Macon; Miss Flora Turner, of McDonough; Miss Sue Jarrell, of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Miss Carrie Marshall, of Eatonton, Ga.; Mr. Gordon Hardeman of Macon; Mr. T. J. Marshall of Albany; Mrs. R. N. Etheridge, Mr. W. N. Brown, Mr. T. H. Buttrill of Jackson and Mr. A. J. Johnson of Acworth.
