Here are their names and they were sitting in the order as their names come: T. J. Lane, J. J. Barnes, Mr. Respess and Judge Harkness. While we do not know their ages yet we venture the assertion that they were sitting in order of their age, Mr. Lane being the youngest, while Judge Harkness was the oldest. Now if we have done any one of these an injustice by making him younger than the other or others, we are ready to make correction. If it seldom that you see four old men (they have no objection to being called old) sitting down with each other pleasantly chatting away the hours of their riper years. They have lived over two generations. Many, younger than themselves have they seen come and go. How we would like to know all of their experiences in the roughs and ills and sweetness of a long and well spent life. What respect should gray hair command when worn in honor? Gray hairs which adorn the brow of the righteous are not the insignias of old age but simply the crowning of ripe and perennial youth.
