Middle Ga.  Argus – Week of October 19, 1893
Early Tuesday night Mr. Welch returned home, and seeing a light in his store, 
near his dwelling, opened the door, when two negroes, who were inside fired on 
him, one ball going through his right hand and the other grazing his right 
temple.  He could not tell who he thieves were.
