H. Strange of this city. It seems that in some manner Mr. Strange had gotton (?) hold of a razor, and as he ascended the steps of Mr. Hanes’ residence early Saturday evening he made three severe gashes on his throat in vain endeavors to end his existence. A physician was called and promptly attended the wounded man, who at this writing is resting easy. Mr. Strange is a young man of about 23 years of age, belonging to one of the best families of Jackson, and no cause can be assigned for his attempting this rash act.
