Church Conference, at its session Monday night, and requested to be published: Whereas, on the 7th day of April, 1895, Col. M. V. McKibben came to the M. E. Church at Jackson in an intoxicated condition, and in this condition disturbed the public worship then engaged in by the people there assembled. That said M.V. McKibben, after making apologies in a written form, and the said M.V. McKibben in replying to the note written by the pastor of the church, was grossly insulting, Therefore, be it Resolved, That we, as a church, condemn such conduct, of which said M.V. McKibben has been guilty in disturbing divine public worship in a drunken condition, and as a church, we call upon the grand jury of the county of Butts to investigate said charges against the said McKibben. That these resolutions be published in the Jackson Argus, and a copy officially signed be served on the grand jury. Clement C. Cary – Pastor in Charge W. E.
